Papatoetoe Youthline and Community Facility

This substantial project involved consultation with community and user groups, liaison with the Youthline Steering Committee, and the production of a 28 page Design Scope Working Document and 9 page Technical Design Scope Report.

The Design Scope Working Document included:

• documentation of design points from meetings with the various user groups,
• summary and analysis of relevant research and publications specific to youth from the Manukau / Otara / Papatoetoe areas, and
• what Youth considered to be important design considerations in the formation of a new community facility.

Consultation and collaborative work with many professional consultants was carried out to achieve resource consent and building consent.

The finished Papatoetoe community facility includes medical facilities, a helpline centre, a hospitality teaching facility and café, sporting and recreational areas and other multipurpose spaces to cater for various community groups.
